The planet is in turmoil. Even the most responsible and thoughtful of us cannot seem to successfully govern with a fair and even hand, and Nations, yes mighty Nations such as our own have lost our way among the many twists and turns of the path that we share in this twisted fate. For thousands of years man has existed and evolved on this great planet. It has seen battles and conflict on an unprecedented scale to say the least, but none could be so threatening as the one that is to come between the Iran that the U.S. news media is building up to at the behest of the current Presidential administration.
The U.S. leadership says that Iran is assisting in the war with Iraq, a claim that Iran strongly disagrees with. Iran also says that the U.S. is sending money into Iran and causing upheaval in their country, and they claim to have proof and the willingness to prove this accusation through a Swiss intermediary. A claim that the U.S. will not even address, and neither will any of the news media outlets run this story, save a brief commentation by Anderson Cooper during the close of one of last weeks news broadcasts in a dialog between himself and Brisbane born, Australian Journalist Michael Ware.
I would like to see this proof, as it is reminiscent of times in the 50’s when Iran was on it’s way to Democracy under the rule of Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeg in the 50’s, who was Democratically elected to parliament, a nationalist, and passionately opposed foreign intervention in Iran. It was Mosaddeg who was the architect of the nationalizing the Iranian oil industry, that was then at the time under British control as the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, now known as British Petroleum, the one that has the environmentally friendly yellow and green logo. Mosaddeg opposed radical Islam and communism, he wanted to use the United States as the model for which his countries system of government would be built on, but the U.S. and Great Britain vehemently opposed the Prime Minister because of the enormous amount of profits in oil revenues that they would lose if Iran nationalized and took control of it’s own oil program, and more to the point, it’s own resources.
The end result was to take place on August 19, 1952 when General Fazlollad Zahedi executed a U.S. and British funded coup d’état against the Prime Minister. It was President Theodore Roosevelt’s grandson Kermit Roosevelt Jr. who oversaw “operation Ajax” as it came to be known. It seems questionable at best to me today to watch Glen Beck on CNN in the evenings telling Americans how the newest enemy to the U.S. is Iran, after we were lied to about Saddam Hussain having WMD in Iraq. Very questionable indeed. So the question that I imposed: Where is Superman? What does that mean?
I think it is our responsibility to educate ourselves in this country, it is our responsibility to start learning something about the history of this planet- The Long View- and not just the opinion that’s being intentionally imposed on to us by CNN, and FOX News and the rest of the lazy, bought out news moguls of the worthless 4th Estate who are sacrificing the truth for which the they are responsible for, for the current opinion that they are NOT supposed to be giving us- but rather FACTS. It is because of this lapse in the 4th Estate that we have to take the responsibility to educate ourselves so that we can decide for ourselves what is right and wrong and what makes and doesn’t make any sense. The facts need to be learned so that someday the traveling salesmen who cart their snake venom to the American public and indeed the world can be called out for what they are, and we can start focusing our efforts on a more peaceful existence, together, on this beautiful blue planet.
